Bebetta Campeti
Bebetta Campeti (55) became a shamanic practitioner through a long path of research and introspection. Already from an early age she was interested in esoteric studies and history of religions, notably on religious synchretism and women’s spirituality. In 1979 she received a BA at Sarah Lawrence College, New York, where she studied Theater, Anthropology and Creative Writing.
In the late seventies, she worked as an actress in Bernardo Bertolucci’s film "Luna", as well as in experimental theater. In the years that followed she wrote, directed and produced anthropological documentaries both independently and for Italian State TV, shot in Italy, Venezuela, Usa, Ghana and Japan. In 1990 she published the monologue "Diotima", or "Eros’ Revenge", staged in many Italian theaters. In 1991 her play "Ocean", an existential conference, inspired by the work of Gregory Bateson, received a special mention of the jury at the Riccione Theater Prize.
Since 1996 she has studied and practiced Tibetan Buddhism with Lama Khyongla Rato Rinpoce, founder of New York’s Tibet Center, Tantric Shaivism of Kashmir with masters Daniel Odier and Nathalie Delay, for whom she translated many seminars, and she deepened her knowledge of women’s spirituality with feminist Yogini Vicki Noble.
In 2008 she was initiated by Dr. Ray Henshall, master of Core Shamanism and student of Michael Harner of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and worked with him intensively for several years. In 2011, she repeatedly travelled to the Amazon, to Mayantuyacu, a center of traditional medicine of Ashaninka Master Juan Flores Salazar. In 2013 she met master shaman Jonathan Horwiz, with whom she started on another stage of this path.
Since 2011 she holds seminars and lectures in Milan and Tuscany. She is the founder of the Aurora Festival. If you are interested in a seminar or healing session, please write for more info to bebetta[at]aurorassociazione[dot]org
