Who Do You Need To Be To Reach Your Goals?

Or, how do you actually make lemonade from those lemons?

On this sunny afternoon my heart sings with the birds to welcome spring wholeheartedly. While trying to structure my thoughts, one question dominates my head space. “Who do you need to be to reach your goals?”

Nathalie Lussier, amazing + generous tech talent, asked me these 10 words in one of her training videos.

We all know the wisdom: When life throws you lemons, make lemonade! But how do we get from skeptic to epic? What steps can we actually take?

After weeks of rollercoaster emotions – ups full of excitement, brilliant brainwaves and anticipation + downs in moments of overwhelm, self-doubt, and panics – I feel the time has come to get real, and ease back into my balanced self.

In order to get where I want to be it is essential to have energy. And I think this counts for all of us. We all have 24 hours in a day. And we need to be more careful where we are investing our energies.

The energy to hold space for more people when your business is growing. The energy to be comfortable with who you are and to remain open in difficult moments. The energy to show up every day as your beautiful and positive self. And the energy to trust yourself that you have what it takes to deal with whatever may come.

While jotting down who I need to be to reach my goals – I think about what I can do to prioritise my energy level. How can I stop the drain, the negative feelings and self-defeating talks?

  • Meditate 20 minutes every day
  • Focus more on intentional breathing
  • Don’t overthink
  • Learn to say ‘no’ without explaining yourself. If certain people or events are draining you, they do not serve you. If you do not serve yourself, how can you be there for others?
  • Less procrastinating or ‘relaxing’ with non-serving content (such as YouTube and series)
  • Take baths
  • Read more good books
  • Get more sleep, lights off at 22.30!

I am going to try this for the next month and see if my rollercoaster is going to transform into a beautiful determinant steam-train that moves ahead with consistency.

Don’t just be good to others, be good to you.

Now, I would love to hear from you! Who do you need to be to reach your goals? And what actions are you taking to become that person?
